As with any sport, injuries are a part of playing the game. There are many different injuries that can occur during or be caused by basketball. Most major injuries are rare but there are many minor injuries which are common to all basketball players such as:

Ankle Sprains: Caused by rolling the ankle beyond it’s normal range of motion.

Knee Injuries: Aggravated by excess wear and repeated jumping.

Jammed Fingers: Caused by the ball hitting the finger tip instead of the finger pad. Can range from severe to minor.

Minor injuries might disrupt life for a day or two but major injuries can ruin an entire season. Breaking bones as in the featured arm snap video can leave a player out for months, or even ruin an entire career.
