these fish are introduced species. they're destroying natural fish populations. they do this because the vibrations from the motor trigger their fight or flight response. yet another example of introduced species having a huge impact outside of its own environment.

Silver Asian Carp: The Missouri River has this problem... It just may be in Missouri.... Those Freaking fish are very annoying. The noise coming from the boat motor makes these stupid azz fish jump at you. If you don't watch it they will knock you off the boat while you going about 45 mph or so....

Hey break staff: those are called asain or bighead carp. They land in our boat all the time on the Missouri river. You can cut them up into pieces and they are probably the best cut bait there is for blue catfish.
