  IT is: Lake Berryessa between Davis and Napa California. It is called the Glory Hole as Yourahooker pointed out. It only happens when the water level is wicked high and is used as a overflow device to keep surrounding community from flooding. I think there is a grate half way down through it. If you get sucked in you are a dead person, and the gene pool just got a little richer.

    @ravnfreak52lol: i know its not a whirlpool...its alot scarier than a gay whirlpool and has alot more power than a whirlpool too. i guarantee you cant just chill in a boat 10 feet away from that thing...there is water flowing into it and it is PULLING the water in idiot

  Yep, ICE420 is correct..: It was completed in 1957. It is about 72 feet across at the top and narrows to about 28 feet. When at full compacity it releases about 362,000 gallons every 1 second. Pretty cool.

  The largest drain hole in the world: Located in northern California, the Monticello Dam’s is the largest morning glory spillway all over the world. This funnel-shaped outlet, allows water to bypass the dam when it reaches capacity, as it swallows a rate of 48,400 cubic feet per second (1370 m/s). The distance from the funnel to the exit point - which is situated in the south side of the canyon - is about 700 feet.
