  That shot is just fine, if a little to close to gut, and too far from lungs. No one I have ever heard aims for neck. No organs there, much smaller target, and shoulder bones will stop many calibers. You aim right behind shoulders, with allowances for your relative position for entry/exit. If your initials are JR and your balls clack when you walk, you slit its throat and eat it raw, then run wild in town with an M-60.
