Actually what this appears to be is a Rubber Boa. They are a cold tolerant Boid that is Native to north America. I have one as pet that I raised from a baby from a wild caught female while I wa attending college in eastern Washington. They were all over at one of the parks I visited on a regular basis. The males were all about this color. If you look closely at the right side of the picture you can see the shape of its head. To the left is the tail. This is about the averge size of this species.
