ok, so in Finland they have to do this.....but what is the purpose? Why lie down in a line and let a tank pass over you? Just what are they training for? "Ok guys today we're gonna lay down on the ground in a straight line. This will save you one day in combat."

The reason they don't wear combat gear: anymore while doing this is because one pioneer got stuck and pressed against the tank and broke his pubic bone. Combat gear adds about 10 inches to your back.

@Funny, because whenever other countries need help it is always the USA they call upon. Glad we have the strongest military in the world. I just wish we would pull all of our troops back, close the borders, and let the rest of the world tear itself apart.

well: it's all about removing the 'fear' of tanks. After doing this, and the other trick where you roll over just when the track is about to hit you...well I now know that the further I am from a tank the safer I am. So running is the key.

It's just that: Finnish youngsters who go to the military service are so fat and lazy that they don't fit under that thing and when you lay on the track and officer hits your helmet when to move, they just can't.. They're like turtles turned on their backs... I did this too, but it was T72 that rolled over me. Anthrax, I think everywhere they have to go under a tank.. no only in Kaarti, dumbass..
knussle - 2 years ago
Not as stupid as it may seem...: I see how that training may be usefull... If a mission depends of that twenty guys can lay i a perfect line in order for a Leopard to run over them, you finish guys will know just what to do. This happens all the time in Iraq for example.

@Anthrax85Suuuuure you did!!!!: You're probably too fat to leave your computer chair let alone join any military group!
Karhu - 2 years ago
@Anthrax85just little fact: military service in finland is not voluntary. everybody who does not have illness or disability have to serve his own time in finnish army. if you will not want to go to army you have to serve longer time in civilian service or sit about year in jail.
