seems gross yes, but as a new father i can attest to the awesomeness of this thing. When your child can't breathe you want to get the snot out and this does it best - what you can't tell by this pic is that there is a filter/catch tube for the boogers - they get nowhere near your mouth. But don't get me wrong...my reaction was the same as all of yours when my wife brought this home

actually you use a syringe connected to a tube that you stick in the babies nose. the packaging is all wrong that would be a biohazard to your health and would not be aloud to be sold by law (FDA)
