  The driver forgot to put the box down befor he started driving. In the winter you leave the box up so the hydrolic fluid doesent get too cold to move , it wont freeze but it gets verry thick and puts alot of pressure on the rubber fluid lines. By leaving it up gravity loosens the fluid so it will work in the cold.
