this is not the USS Cole but: the Cole was taken from Yemen, Oct. 2000 by the dutch ship called the Blue Marlin just like this ship, back to the US. This ship is not the same class as the USS Cole. I know this because my husband was abord the Cole when she was attacked and he was one of the last to leave her before she was put on the back of the Blue Marlin.

  @jt98ht ya: the USS Cole was much shorter than the ship shown in this pic. I have a friend in Yemen who witnessed the Cole when it was loaded after the attack, he said it was amazing to watch them submerse the transport ship.

defeating the purpose: AngeloNC17 is dead on Kudoes! It is the UssSammuel B Roberts FFG-58. It is a Oliver Hazard Perry Class Guided Missile Frigate.In face it is the last one of that class. On April 14 1988 it hit an Iranian M-08 mine, while participateing in Operation Earnest Will. Displaces 4100 tons and is 453 ft. long, 45 ft. wide and it's draft is 22ft. Crew 15 officers and 190 enlisted men. It has a range of 5000 nm. It was repaired an returned to service.

USS Cole: This is way the Arleigh Burke class destroyer USS Cole (DDG -67) was returned to the US after the terrorist bombing in Yemen on 12 October, 2000 which killed 17 sailors. The transport ship in the case of the Cole was the Norwegian ship SS Blue Marlin. After repairs, the Cole was recommissioned on 19 April 2002 and returned to the fleet.

They used this ship: To rescue the Queens yacht a few years back when it broke down in the Pacific (remember) The Britania was decomissioned after that.

That orange: ship is a Dutch ship that can sink below the water level and then raise again to lift cargo like other (damaged) ships.

FYI: This is the guided missle frigate USS Samuel B. Roberts, being transported by Mighty Servant 2 after striking a mine in the central Gulf during april 1988. The mine blue a 15 foot hole in the hull and knocked the gas turbines from their mounts, causing the engine room to flood. Have some respect. While nobody died, 10 sailors were injured, 4 seriously. Sammy B, No higher honor!

OMG!: Whoever writes these fucking captions needs to commit suicide. You are f.ucking retarded. Every single one is stupid, or not amusing in the least. What do you want the ship to do? Sink? Fuccking dumbasses. Next time something goes wrong with your car so that you have to get it towed, try driving it instead. That makes lots of sense doesn't it fu.cking break people.
