  He probably just misses the good ol' days: The confederate flag has not changed it's meaning. It stands for southern pride based on the idea that they wish they'd won the war. One of the issues (not the only issue) was slavery. The only reason I can see he'd be carrying the flag is, he misses the good ol' days of having a good home and a job. (just pokin fun at him)
