Think people. Please. Think.: Does it surpass anyone of you, that people do bad things to each other, on religious claims or not? And while we're at it, leave the whole religion-discussion. Some people believe, some dont't. Let. It. Go.
@GRaddeGood people do good things, bad people do bad things: But for a good person to do a bad thing it takes religion. Why else would an otherwise loving mother permit a doctor to hack away at the genetalia of her newborn son immediately after childbirth, or this new case of the parents of an 11 year old daughter in WI whom layed in bed severly ill for a month before dying, while her parents chose to pray for her health to return instead of taking her to a doctor. Turns out all she needed was an insulin shot bec

@GRaddecircumcision: is not only religiously based. many non jewish parents choose to have their child circumcised because of heath issues. an uncircumcised penis is prone to getting infections if not properly cleaned daily. im not saying being circumcised is a reason not to clean down there but it does make infection down there something less likely to happen.
@GRaddeHmm, and here I always thought that infections were: best avoided with soap and water and easily treated with antibiotics, I just was unaware that the cure all of infection was genetal mutilation of infants. Children are prone to ear infections as well, will we be feeling the need to cut their ears off as well before waiting to see if they happen to become infected and then possibly treating them with the usually available remedies? It's clearly a religious ritual. Parents should take the responsibility of
@GRaddecont.: their body parts out of fear of a simple infection. When they grow up then they can decide if they want to have parts of their body removed or not.
@GRaddedo yourself a favor: watch a baby get circumsised, see how the baby reacts, and then decide if it's a worthwhile preventative measure to avoid the unlikely incidence of an infection.
@GRaddeYou're an: idiot cone. 'nuf said.

Yeah, like Charles Manson right?...Oh wait he wasnt religious: He did some dumb stuff to people as well. Dont generalize.
@Wombat49Charles Manson started a religious cult called The Family: in which he claimed to be a reincarnation of Jesus Christ. Know your facts man before you start to GENERALIZE people as being non-religious because they're murderers.

"Religions are all alike – founded upon fables and mythologies.": -Thomas Jefferson
TwoStepYourFace - 2 years ago
@cone10.: You know as smart as Thomas Jefferson was, he still wasn't a good dude. You know about that whole thing where he proposed no slavery north of the Ohio River.. but he still had slaves, didn't release them till he was dead and had an affair with one of his slaves like 8 times or something.. Reaaalll good dude.
@cone10Classic diversion: Ahh the classic ad hominem argument. Attacking the characteristic of the person making the claim, rather than addressing the claim itself. Way to change the subject, well played sir. Maybe we can get alittle argument from ignorance next, or even my favorite, some appeal to emotion (religion makes me feel good so it must be true).
@cone10who cares: if he was good or not, thats a great point right there, ppl only believe in god because they cant grasp the thought that nothing will happen when you die, becuz its too scary to think that its it, its over once you die.... i mean think about it
aaaaaaaaaah - 2 years ago
@cone10thomas jefferson also said that: governments should be overthrown every twenty years, but i dont see you adhering to that quote. who cares what thomas jefferson said? picking and choosing quotes from a 'great' person is the same as picking and chhosing the quotes from the bible that you agree with, and ignoring the others.
@cone10I picked that quote: because we're talking about religion and not the government, but nice try attempting to change the subject.
treshuevos - 2 years ago
@cone10why is your reply to everything: "way to change the subject"? They may not be addressing your statement but neither are you addressing theirs
@cone10because we're talking about religion, not government.: If you asked me about the weather would you feel obliged to answer me if I challenged you about UFO's?

It is quite difficult to understand why we still have arguments about this stuff,,,: I mean come on people. Just. Think. Just have a think about it. How on earth can ANY religion be true, with a grand total of zero proof backing up all of the ludicrous claims. Any suggestions?
tbowandarrow - 2 years ago
@NosserAnd yet: where did the idea of an eternal lake of fire come from? Those who created the religion itself, to instill a sense of fear among the masses in order to gain a following. There is no proof of this "lake of fire." You only believe in it because that is what you were told. Religion is fine if that's your choice, just don't push your views on other people.
@NosserI think: what she was trying to do what just lay out on the table what she thinks is true and if he has any questions or want to further the discussion she was opening it up on her profile page and not on this comment board.

@NosserWell: "If there's a creation there have to be a Creator". Consider these two arguments: 1. Everything in the universe have been created by a creator who has always been. 2. Everything in the universe have been created by the forces in the universe that may also always have been. The first is religious claim the second is what we can call an atheist claim. How do they differ? What I'm trying to say is that the idea behind creationism that everything has to be created by a creator backfires when the creatio
DEFINITION OF: CHRISTIANITY: GOD SACRIFICED HIMSELF TO HIMSELF TO SAVE US FROM...HIMSELF
Mistah_T - 2 years ago
@cone10Sounds clever: if you don't pull your head out of your ass. God walked in the shoes of man to show his love for us and even fought human nature to show it's possible. He sacrificed himself not necessarily to himself, but to us. He went through man's pain for us and died for our sins, not for himself.
@cone10Sure: He fought the very human nature he instilled in us, which was simply a battle against his own creation. And yes he died for our sins but who waged that the penalty of sin is death? God did, so he sacrificed himself...to himself. If he felt that the penalty of sin wasn't death then he wouldn't have had to die.
@cone10Alright: Seriously. The fighting between believers and non-believers does not go anywhere. We are not going to sway anyone's mind from their beliefs. So why bother? Why bother arguing against something you cannot win? Seriously. Waste of time.
@cone10I will tell you yhy: The debate between believers and non-believers is important, because of a little concept called blue-laws. Look it up. It all comes down to people feel that they shouldn't have to be governed by the laws constituated by other people's religious beliefs.
@cone10Definition of ignorance: cone10: The definition of Christianity is not that god sacrificed himself to himself to save himself. He created us, and gave us a free will because he loves us. We were rebellious, and to show that he forgives us, he sacrifices his son, jesus, who is 100% god and 100% human (hard to grasp at first, I know, but still...). The only reason he needed to do this was because he gave us a free will so that we would voluntarily love him back, in return for his constant love. Geddit? It's
@cone10But if he knows our hearts and our free will even before we even do: then isn't he creating non-believers just to goto hell. If he's omniscient then he will KNOW that the non believer he is creating will reject him and go to hell when he dies. Then why keep creating people just to watch them go to hell? OUr choice may be voluntary to us but he already knows which way we will turn when he's creating us. Creating people when you know they will suffer an eternity in hell is sadistic dont you think? Almost as
@cone10cont.: Almost as sadistic as subjecting your only son to a grisly ritualistic human sacrifice to show people how "forgiving" you are. It's like telling someone "I hereby decree that anyone who eats yogurt on a thursday shall be guilty of comitting a sin against me. But if you do, to show that I am merciful I shall kill my only child. " Makes sense to me.
