I myself get a lot of phone calls from Sallie Mae so I was ecstatic to hear that Student Loans could be the next financial bubble. According to an article in the Root, outstanding student loans totaled about $805 billion dollars as of March 30th of this year. Economists speculate that our inability to pay back these loans might trigger the next economic crisis and may start to drag the U.S economy even farther. So what happens next? Well I have this reoccurring dream that I get a letter in the mail that says my student loans are paid off and I can finally start a food truck that serves marijuana infused ice cream sandwiches.
