On June 10th, professional skateboarder Ryan Sheckler held an skateboarding event in Lake Forest, CA that raised $105,000 for the organization Autism Speaks. That is way more effective than the fund raiser bake sale that I threw which raised negative $26. I burned all the cookies I made. This event was produced by the Sheckler Foundation which he uses to raise money for underprivileged kids and injured athletes. Not bad considering he is only 21 years old. When I was 21, I was training to set the record of the most bagel bites consumed in a sitting. Those things are great. Sheckler made headlines when he turned professional at 13 and has since won medals in the X-Games, had his own TV show and made millions of dollars. If there is a lesson to be learned here, parents stop wasting time and put your baby on a skateboard. Get rich!
