This past Tuesday morning there was a 5.8 magnitude earthquake that shook the East coast into a frenzy. This not only broke my mom’s favorite angel figurine, but it also raised questions about how prepared we really are to deal with disasters. It became apparent that there were several problems with communication capabilities and evacuation plans as phone networks were clogged and unusable in the time following the earthquake. So get your act together people! Because Hurricane Irene is expected to hit the East Coast this weekend and there is nothing scarier then a pissed off old woman named Irene who is powerful enough to move cows.
