@619martinez619sorry 619martinez619...: this is a Judo match. look at the formal referees and the mat color coordination. ever since the popularity of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu you see more and more submission attempts/finishes in Judo tournament play.

@619martinez619The only time my: Jiu jitsu class (japanese/european style) fought like that was when doing Randoori, or for the lay person, Judo free practice... Interesting that BJJ has an influence on Judo, I've been thrown around by a Judoka a few times and they don't need to learn other styles.

The guy in the blue gi: sucks. It's ridiculously easy to counter a flying armbar. These guys are amateurs, and this IS sport (Brazilian style) jiu jitsu (not classical Japanese Jiu jitsu)

@Slipninjai hate to agree with the tool...: ... however it is jiu jitsu. judo focuses more on throws, where as jiu jitsu is more about submissions and joint manipulation. nevertheless ... slipninja.... is a tool... just because you can get out of your boyfriend's flying armbar doesn't mean you'd stand a chance against someone proficient in the sport.

@SlipninjaJudo: Judo is Jiu Jitsu, just a diffeerent form which is much more usable in "friendly" tournaments. Judo is more about the take down and less about hurting the opponent. Joint manipulation is still taught in Judo, but not used as often. It is more about making the guy feel it isn't worth it.

@jeffreyjames58No it's judo: Judo is locking, throwing, falling, etc,etc. Jiu jitsu depending on what type it is is where Judo comes from, Brazillian jiu jitsu is different again. The bloke in the vid looks like he missed the flying part but managed to get it down on the ground.
