  @dewey916 CAn't recall but I think the reason is is that it is college ball which you don't need to touch the player. Again not certain as I am not a fan of the sport myself.

  @dewey916 fizbanic is correct. Once you're down, you're down. NFL rules are different from high school and college. In the NFL, you can get up and continue running if no opponent has touched you.

In the global scale of thing AF is tiny compaired to the game you call Soccer. And the goalkeeper catches the ball a lot (or at-least he's supposed to).

Anyone notice that the receiver never got touched by the defense? I saw that happen in a pro game once. The defenders came jogging up like they were cool or something. They were standing on each side of the receiver, who was on the ground, and the receiver popped up and started running. The stoopid defense guys just looked at each other.
