Nothing like a good old fashioned redneck tug-of-war. Looks like the mud wins this round.

that's pure stupid man..any redneck 4wheeler knows never, ever strap an axle to pull out a rig. Spend a $100 bucks on a set of tow hook brackets or stay out of the mudhole, moron. what a waste of what looked like a nice XJ.

Sundance45 you have convinced me that you truly are the dumbest person on earth! It was bad enough that YBG made the stupid comment that he did, but thats forgivable. Then you call people idiot saying that YBG is correct....lol....you truly are the worlds biggest dumb@$$ sundance45! Leaf springs on the front of a vehicle..lol...I dont care how old that Jeep is it doesn't have leafsprings on the front. I still can't stop laughing at you both Sundance45 & YBG you idiots have made my week!

@RestoJoeI don't think they understand what a damn leaf spring even is. I bet he typed that comment in while a girl was watching. He was like "yeah i am a total gear head. I could fix that leaf sprig problem in like 5 minutes if i had been there. " LOL Dumbass !

      deadite - 2 years ago

@RestoJoeI may not be the smartest cookie, but I do work for Chrysler so I kinda know a thing or two about jeeps. This Grand Cherokee has coil-over front suspension, true, but to say that no vehicles have leaf springs on the front is wrong. Several models of jeeps do indeed have front and rear leaf springs. Just saying.

    • nicolaim

      nicolaim - 2 years ago

@RestoJoedeadite, they dont have coil-overs either. just coil springs with shocks. coil-overs are coil springs with the shock in the middle of the spring. hence "coil-over" the shock. and a lot of jeeps have leaf springs up front, not any cherokees tho

@RestoJoemy 92 wrangler has a leaf spring front end. your the dumbass!! also.. the truck towing him out, which sounds like a powerstroke to me, if it is older than i think 2005 or 2004 it will have a leaf spring front end.. obviously you dont know what you are talking about!!

all of you are idiots. CLEARLY the rope was attatched to the frame of the jeep. when the deisel yanked him out, the suction from the mud was greater than the what the leaf springs and u bolts and tower mounts could handle. therefore the jeep came up, but the wheel attatched to the axle stayed in the mud.

    • blueS2000

      blueS2000 - 2 years ago

@YBGinteresting idea but that doesn't account for the wheel that was not in the mud. That was a total axle failure! Plus he was out of blinker fluid.

    • Ski_Bird

      Ski_Bird - 2 years ago

      @YBGThe blinker fluid explains it...totally.

    • toastbox

      toastbox - 2 years ago

@YBGYBG, you are actually the idiot. Jeep cherokees don't have frames, they are a unibody suv. They also don't have leaf springs on the front, as the front is an independent coil over suspension.

    • sundance45

      sundance45 - 2 years ago

@YBGtoastbox, u are the idiot. its an older model, therefor, it has a front axle. ybg is right. also the idiot in the tow vehicle thought he was in a drag race. all present a total morons

    • onebigchevy16

      onebigchevy16 - 2 years ago

@YBGjeep cherrokees are a uni body.. so no frame and its coils in front not leaf springs and no u-bolts... but hey its a jeep there like tampons every pussys got one...

    • nicolaim

      nicolaim - 2 years ago

      @YBGthat jeep has a uni-body, not a cab-on-frame. so no frame.

    • appstatexj

      appstatexj - a year ago

@YBGcherokee's are unit bodies..like a passenger car...they don't have a traditional"frame".....that strap is attatched to the front axle (b/c without tow hook brackets, or a good quality aftermarket bumper, there's no where else to get a good solid grip on a Cherokee), which is why it was ripped out from under the Jeep.

  • Vash07

    Vash07 - 2 years ago

Would have worked if they used a jerk strap instead of just a regular tow rope. Too bad the smack tard in the powerstroke didn't think that you don't have to floor it to pull 2 tons of jeep out of the mud when you have 5 tons of truck. But I guess when you buy a truck that big you must be compensating for something.

If you look carfully you will notice the axle hardle moved, the truck was attached to the bumper not the axle. If they have straped to the axle this probably would not have happened. I agree that he was pulled too hard, but he should have tied off to the diff, it is the strongest thing on a uni-body jeep. Most straps used by offroaders, are designed to stretch to give a bit of cushoning and extra pull. I wouldn't say he wasn't equiped for that hole, I would say he was just having fun and got stuck, which i

      tfreyguy - 2 years ago

@5536trevgo lay down in the grass and die you can clearly see they straped it to the axle if you strap it to the bumper all it would have done is rip the bumper off. where they went wrong is they strapped it to the end of the axle then the line sliped and ripped the tire off

    • Codeman911

      Codeman911 - 2 years ago

@5536trevI would have guessed they tied it to the tie rod. But at least they didn't screw up and tie it to the drivers little crank. But we all know they should have.

For starters- FAIL. But really- who ties a strap to the front axle, then has a turbo diesel(sounds like a dodge/cummins) and the has him get a run at it before tensioning the line? Go Prepared, and make it home in one piece. Makes 4 wheelers look stupid. Anyone with some common sense would have seen he wasn't equipped for that mud hole to begin with.

Not to make this any less of a major FAIL, but there is some 10 minutes worth of video elsewhere of them tugging at this thing from every angle. If someone had gotten dirty and tried to dig the left front wheel out, perhaps he'd still have a Jeep. Now he has an ashtray.
