This guy and his team won the title of the fastest fire fighters in the world. Their speed is amazing however, you would think to win that title there should be some fire to actually fight.

Its called a Drill team for a reason, it is used for training reasons. Most dept. have fund raisers and other events to pay for this.

umm?: Thats why the rope is hanging there that way he can hang on for his life lol. They are volunteer firemen and the trucks cost 30-60 grand a piece-and yes they have TWO 1 B TRUCK and 1 C TRUCK the one in the video is a C TRUCK. And YES the residents taxes and donations each year go to maintain And purchase new ones, as well as pay the insurance for the department that covers them if they get hurt at fires but instead of being around in the summers to protect the residents homes those gentlemen ar

  @JimmyR1riderumm: theyre off at other towns every saturday partying and walkin in parades The drill teams are definately the key to Long Islands fire service Race, Drink, Fund raiseing. The rest will fall into place. GOOOOO DRILL TEAMS!!!! Glad my insurance that covers me getting injured at a fire covers them when they get injured jumping off a b or c truck 50 miles away. not the fastest: not even close....the fastest firefighter in the world in ladder event was 1.44 sec. he was 1.6 sec too slow

Works well: As long as there is a fire on a bridge and not building, there is no fire to put out, and you only need to tag the person to save them.

Paid or not...most all firefighters do it because they genuinely care about people.
