I still dont know what happened in this clip. A plane does a full flip and while it is flying level suddenly loses both of its wings obviously causing it to crash.

As a commercial 777 pilot I can't help but think of the same thing many of you did. That was a very long time to know you are about to die. I can't imagine the terror and sadness that he was dealing with. This happened to a US Forrestry plane a bit like a c-130 aircraft. They were dropping flame retardant on a forrest fire and we he pulled out of his dive, both wings broke off and folded up over the plane. The fuselage began spinning like a football then he hit the ground. Wing loading is critical.

@Boeing777driverThe c-130 crash you are talking about I believe they found that the wing AD's were not complied with, as for this video, too much wing load.

Wow, that sucks. Looks like a lil too much stress on the airframe. He was actually trying to gain lift still after that loop

Don't believe everything you see. This was all part of an airshow stunt. The plane is remotely operated. (Just do a little searching on the net people.) Pawleeese! Wings don't just break. They're put under enormous stress tests. (search that too)

Okay, here's the story. When the wings popped off the airplane, parachutes we supposed to deploy.floating the ship safely to the ground.Unfortunately the chutes were attached to the wings instead of the ship and thus....made in China

At least he had plenty of time to realize how stupid he was before he hit the ground.

It's called: "Ooops, I chose the wrong airplane to do acrobatics in, this thing wasn't rated for this kind of abuse. POP! goes the wing spar and you're a new kind of Pizza! Darwin award winner material here...

    • moonshinelarry

      moonshinelarry - 3 years ago

@whatmeworrySTUPID IS AS STUPID DOES: The pilot was repeatadly told not to do aerobatics in that airplane. It was a light twin built in Italy and not stressed for high 'g' aerobatics.

@whatmeworryYea, I'd say he won that award. But 'Moonshine', what makes you say he was "repeatedly told..."? A Partenavia P.68 is NOT an aerobatic aircraft but WHO was telling the PIC not to fly like that?

Yeah: No way you live through that one... he was atleast 1000 to 1500ft up and had no verticle lift going for him when he crashed upside down. There's no reason for him to be doing aerobatic manuevers in an aircraft with a utility rating at best. Sucks for his family... I'm a pilot, so this stuff isn't just TV for me..
