    only magnetic materials (iron, nickel, and cobalt) would react like that. Most piercings are not made of those three. Something similar to this was on Mythbusters a while back.

    I am an x-ray tech who used to do weekends in MRI. If you have have metal in your eye, they will go do a regular x-ray of your skull to see if there is anything still there. And the reason for no earrings or piercings...anything metal going THROUGH your skin can heat up to the point of causing some pretty serious burns.

    on the questionnaire before you have an mri they ask "have you ever had any metal enter your eye". I'd hate to be the guy that answers that incorrectly.
