I am an Engineer on the UP and will gve you a few FACTS, Federal law demand a train crew gets 10 rest between freight trips. The old standard was 8 hours but they could call you in 6 hours to be at work in 8 hours. The FRA finally saw that wasn't a great idea because it's hard to go home and go right to sleep everytime. I watched the video several times and saw the crew with the camera was n the right, the signal they had at the start of the video told them they were to proceed on a diverging route. Now if

Those of you interested in the real story, keep reading: 5 people involved, all injured. NO FATALITIES. The two employees in the train that had the camera on it were tucked behind the engineer's seat. Actually, one was about to jump but the other kept him from doing so. Good move since the locomotives would have crushed him. The three on the other train (the one where you see the guy jumping) all jumped and all were injured. Subsequently, all were fired. The real story: June 14, 2006- Madera, California: 2 BNSF Railway Freight trains collide head on due to one of the trains running a red signal. One of the train's crews, the one that ran the red, was suspected to be high on cocaine. One of locomotives happened to be video recording, and the video is now widely seen on Youtube and related sites. nobody died: i read the FRA report nobody died in this accident there were 5 injuries 3 of them serious but nobody died. the crew of the oncoming train in the video fell asleep and the fireman woke up just as the passed the stop signal and was able to wake everyone in time before the impact

Grow up folks, this is NOT a funny video, two men lost their lives.: That train collision video is NOT funny. And contrary to what Break.com says, two people DID get "seriously hurt", in fact, two enginemen were killed. You can see one of them jumping off the side of the other locomotive right before impact. @RRInstructorI agree: This is absolutly not funny. I don't think blue is a funny color at all. Maybe if it turned pink. I mean, who would expect pink.. The sheer suprise of seeing pink would be pretty funny. Or maybe somebody can edit this video and fill in the missing spots with some stop-motion of some toy trains.. that would be funny. But like I said, as it stands now, it really isn't funny, and is only borderline interesting, I think the director could have done better work.

um a guy did die in this vid: if you go to the 43sec mark you can see where he jumped out on the left side thats 12 feet up and however fast the train was going i think he broke his neck
