Trapped in an Elevator for 41 Hours: The guy in the upper right quadrant is named Nicholas White. He was having a normal day until he hopped in the elevator after a smoke break. Halfway up, the elevator stopped and stranded him there for 41 straight hours. Can you imagine this happening? What would you do? No wonder this became one of the most watched videos of all time on the internet.

    that sucks!: id go crazy, but couldnt he use the lighter/matches he used to smoke a cigerette earlier to set off an alarm? eh but i suppose if he could have done that he would have thought of it in 41 hours

    maybe: it was a hella fucked up prank an they payed him, cuz theres no way they would just decide not to service that elevator and leave the light on to that one in specific at all times for no reason. but that would still be depressing as fuk

      @mothafuckatskinYes, this day and age...: But this occurred in 1999, and Cell phones weren't nearly as common then. Besides, he could've easily left it on his desk when going for his smoke break. I don't always have my phone with me unless I'm leaving the building I'm in.

    I actually: got stuck in a tiny elivator today for 30 mins.... I got contact on the alarm button though...more lucky than this guy had... the only thing is that I was with 3 people... we tok turns sitting down

    To everyone asking about an emergency phone: This elevator does not have a phone, it has an intercom. Most elevators have intercoms. The intercom only works when security switches them on. For example, the elevator gets stuck, the occupant turns on the emergency bell, security gets on the intercom and tells them to remain calm and that help is on the way or gives them further instructions.. but no one heard the emergency bell in this case.     FAKE!: elevators have a service door at the top. he was being handed water and snacks (and a deck of cards). And what happened to him being a smoker? i would have definitely smoked a few in a 41 hour time frame, maybe the smoke would motivate someone to get me out of the elevator. the other three elevators were also out of service. Note also, that in 41 hours no one is in ANY of the other boxes except some ladders and service persons. I would also have taken a massive shit out the door leaving a stinky su

      @SolarFoXWRONG: No Moron it is not called a service hatch. Its an escape hatch which does allow oocupants to escape but rather for the fire department to open from top. The hatch is equipped with a saftey circuit that will further disable the elevator if it is opened.
