This is NO demonstration, folks......: My hubby drives for Osborn Transportation, the company you see on the truck above. This happened Thanksgiving day of this year, up in NY state. The driver was ok, but obviously he lost his job over his own stupidity. The video was caught by a couple who were on their way to family for the holiday, and happened to have their camcorder on them. A copy of the video was sent directly to Osborn for insurance use.
@ndars1More info.......: Driver pulled up to the tracks, and lights were flashing, but crossarms were NOT down. He looked, thought it was a malfunctioning cross, and started to drive. About the time he got the cab on the tracks, he heard a noise, looked, and saw the train. In a panic, he stalled his truck. By the time he restarted it, and started driving forward, the crossarms had dropped, and it was too late. He has quit driving because of this.....at least, that's what he told safety at Osborn.

demonstration!!: this was done as a demonstration, the train didnt hit its breakes(train breaks lock the wheels up) and the camera was set up on a tri-pod. come on people. good vid though.
@trevbugnoutu moron: it takes up to 9 miles for a train to fully stop and they have hydrolic brakes . each engine is 64 tonnes think about it this train was almost at a stop before the video was over thats impressive. next time you have to listen for the pop! its the sound your head makes when it comes out of your ass fuk stik!!!!!

@bnuggetsTruckers are supposed to be smarter then this: You can see that the arms came down on the truck. You don't enter an railroad crossing (or an intersection for that matter) unless you have the room to fully clear it. He looks like he is sitting in traffic, pulls halfway threw, then the RR signals go off. Probably sitting there going "oh shit, people move!!!!"

i work near 6 railroad crossings,: and even today in 2007, they are dangerous as hell. they dont even have the arms that come down. just a yield sign.
