    @blomeee3Depends on weight and speed of train. Can take up to a quarter to a half mile to come to a complete stop. Assuming the train doesn't derail.

  there was no way the engineer was paying attention... he shoulda been blowing his horn half a mile before that intersection. There's lights on the tracks before most intersections so they can warn ahead... especially if there's no crossing lights... so there definately would have been a flag for the engineer to lay on his horn...
