In 2004, the Hubble Telescope focused on 1/13 millionth of the night sky for 10 days and found in this pinpoint of empty space over 10,000 galaxies. This video takes that image and puts it into 3D.

I love how many religious people say that we atheists need to be more open-minded. When in fact, we're the most open minded. We don't believe something is true just...because... We do research, ask questions, don't pretend to know everything, we're open for suggestions.. I could go on and on... Whilst religious people are stuck to some fiction from a book. What's open minded about that? That's narrow-minded..

Apparently the correlation between a sound argument of 'why atheism is wrong' and an intelligent person to present said argument share similarity. Both don't exist.

Job 38:13 "As the light approaches, the earth takes shape like clay pressed beneath a seal; it is robed in brilliant colors." Amos 9:6 "The LORD's home reaches up to the heavens, while its foundation is on the earth. He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land. The LORD is his name!"

Science --> Earth is a Ball spinning 1000 mph orbiting the sun at 67,000 mph while the sun is moving 600,000+ mph. The Moon is orbiting the earth at 2200+ mph yet the Moon doesn't spin and travels the same speed as the Sun across the Sky! LOL Oh yeah, You evolved from a Monkey too! LOL What a bunch of bologna.

It's hard for me to just sit while all this blasphemy of our Lord is taking place and remain silent. I may be guilty of Hell but you ignorant fucks look at a picture and think you know everything. This picture may be real or it may not. That's besides the point. If you would open your minds for one second you will see that this Earth is Unique. It does not take a religious nut or rocket scientist to see this. You have been told what to think your entire lives and spiritually raped for all you'

This just proves that religious people need to rethink their stand point. On a sidenote "webly" you not only need to rethink your stand point. But also need to pay more attention in school. It's "responsible" :-)

Nothing with mass can move equal to or exceed the speed of light, so where the narrator said the galaxies are moving at faster than the speed of light, is incorrect. that bugged me so i figured i'd say something lol

    • RightCoastVA

      RightCoastVA - a year ago

@Tiller42If two bodies are each travelling at near the speed of light in opposite directions, then yes they are moving away from each other at speeds that exceed the speed of light.

    • treyert

      treyert - a year ago

@Tiller42That is an interesting paradox since NO, they are not escaping each other faster than the speed of light. So, RightCoastVA, there's more studying fro you to do. A LOT more. Or, just accidentally posting on Break, you solved one of the greatest mysteries of the universe. Yeah, right...

@doodyapplesHaha Religious people suck. If a "biblical" god created the earth, there would be no reason to create so much universe! Now "God" might exist but definitely not one belonging in the tales of earth religions. I for one have always thought the universe itself IS God :)

@doodyapples  Let me sum the bible up for you. God loves you... sorta. But if you don't know who he is you get sent to hell where you get tortured without end. Come on, now... If the bible were true, god must have one hell of an ego. In fact he even admits to being a jealous god. But oh wait, jealousy and anger are sinful feelings (which jesus says lust in your heart is a sin, so god's already a sinner). But what can someone do in their lifetime to be sent to hellfire for all eternity? Why do people accept that?

It's like this retards. When your were in your dad's testicles, you do not remember, but you were there in another form. You definately do not remember the travel to the uterous, but you traveled there. When your dead and they bury you, you will not remember but will be there. What we all fight about is on the particulars of endless destination, but we will go there. Some deny this inertia, but it is there inside the twincle of every fathers eyes and testicles.

@platesTime is an idea made up by man..things get old and break down and people decided to count how long things took..and if time is infinite the fact that we are constantly moving through space would mean even future time travelers would return to a different place since the earth has moved

@platesthe only people that believe in a so far unprovable guess at the way something we also think is infinite began is for people who are weak. They are all cool, but one's a book, one's a theory that has broken theorems, and there are a lot of other ones, so many so that if you place your ignorance wholly in one, you are a god damn moron. You know people want to talk about God and throw their religion around in such and ignorant fashion. All the while not knowing that when you take the time to really try and comprehend something like this, and in as best you can use it to allow your mind a glimpse of your own position in all the universe, if only for the briefest of moments. In that moment you can be closer to god then any Sunday morning or Good Book could ever hope to take you.

@Knowsthewaythereyou contradict yourself but thats your twenty-something nature. You're warming to the idea of a God but reject the literature, the Bible. You're getting close when you realise that the books were written for the time and you just need to concentrate on the message. Remember many of the astronauts/scientists became religious after being in space. Its humbling.

@KnowsthewaythereMegamonster, ever heard of google? Just one example Frank Borman was commander of the first space crew to travel beyond the Earth's orbit. Looking down on the earth from 250,000 miles away, Borman radioed back a message, quoting Genesis One: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." As he later explained, "I had an enormous feeling that there had to be a power greater than any of us-that there was a God, that there was indeed a beginning."

    • Schmitty84

      Schmitty84 - 2 years ago

@Knowsthewaythereapparently megamonster knows every scientist and astronaut. The only problem I have with the big bang theory is this... As the cell theory states, cells cannot be replicated from nothing. Cells can only replicate from other cells. I believe that matter has the same characteristics. So if there was nothing before the big bang, where did it come from?

    • Schmitty84

      Schmitty84 - 2 years ago

@KnowsthewaythereAlso, I read a theory about the universe expanding and then later imploding upon itself. Do you think this is possible. Maybe the universe is recreated every so often? If this is the case, what originally set things in motion. I'm not religious nut, but I do believe in a creator.

@vdrinker08And yes, that is probably true. The human race has been here for mere millions of years. In the meantime other solar systems that are much older might also have sentient being on their planets that are much older. More time - more evolution!
