If we wouldn't have wasted our entire existence fighting with wars over religion .. who knows how far out in the universe we would be right now. Sad.

I will NEVER condone the wasteful spending on such a unimportant program such as NASA, EPA, or any other liberalizing agencies. Had God intended mankind to go to the moon, he would have mentioned it in the Bible. It is HIS creation, not ours, and only through HIM will we and our nation find Salvation. Don't you want to go to heaven? You won't get there through space. You get there through your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ignore the racist haters. This guy is awesome, and one of my heroes along with the likes of Michio Kaku and Brian Cox. He is dead on in what he says. Sadly, until there is commercial interest, we only be tiptoeing in a field we should be jumping head first into. Thanks for the upload. Chuck, if you know him, I think that's awesome. I would love just to spend an hour with one of these futurist physicists, asking them a zillion questions. :)

If all classes in the world had less than 13 students; it would be impossible to indoctrinate them. Without indoctrination, war is impossible.

@Bob-Carlson-439That is obviously false. Exponentially growing demand (population) vs finite supply of resources (arable farmland, fresh water, petroleum) is what war is about, not indoctrination. Think about food riots. Are those caused by indoctrination? I think not. They are caused by hunger. That's what we have to look forward to when the food trucks stop rolling due to lack of petroleum. When the farmers have to plow their fields with horses instead of tractors. Be ready, it's coming. Class size has n

The cold war is want drove the space race, unfortunately that paranoia while motivating new frontiers it did so in way that didn't look at long term solutions. For instance: why should the U.S. carry the burden to embark on missions to the moon? Why not invite the rest of the free world to join in and share the costs? The amount of wasted spending for petty tools, like $800 wrenches and $1200 hammers ran rapid during the cold war era. Such careless spending short changed the U.S. tax payer. But its not just

When our politicians don't beleive in the science, produced by NASA,(from climate change to the evolution of the universe),and wear it like a badge of honor. When those same politicians, see NASA as just more big government, that gives no "important" value to this nation. When those same politicians want to destroy and dismantle all public institutions of learning in favor of corporate Universities, and Fundamentalist religious private education. Then you know "Rome has fallen". This time the barbarians ca

I disagree completely. The question isn't what NASA means to us as a nation. The question is whether or not mankind has the knowledge or protocols set in place to properly handle whatever it finds in space, such as extraterrestrial DNA or molecules, all things found should be quarantined on the space station for analysis under stringent protocols. We have no knowledge of how to deal with a rampant Space borne superbug if it enters our atmosphere. it could endanger our entire species. I would venture to say

face it, you've cut the budget. Engineers will go work elsewhere. The knowledge will bleed out slowly. Now you need 50 year old russian technology to go to space. It will take decades to regain the people and skills, when they decide to give it another go.

  • Lexz0r

    Lexz0r - 9 months ago

Nope, no money, no budget, there go the engineers finding work elsewhere, there goes the knowledge, the end.

It is easy for people to cry about NASA and to say stop spending the money. But these are the same people that do not understand, or refuse to understand, that this planet is very finite. The day will come when our continued existence as a species relies on our venture out into the universe. That is of course if we last that long and not wipe each other off the face of the earth.

"A half a penny on the dollar" = I contribute $457.60 a year for this. I'd much rather it go to something much more tangible than some 8th grader fulfilling his or her 8th grade dream. What about my dreams? I'd rather keep my $13,728 (over a 30 year career with no increase on that "half a penny on the dollar" tax).

    • Joshua-Anderson-674

      Joshua-Anderson-674 - 9 months ago

@dunnbramDude if your spending 457.60 a year on nasa, that means your spending $91,000 on taxes a year, which means your making a butt load of money to be spending 91,000 on taxes alone. I dont think you need to be worrying about 457 dollars a year

@dunnbramyou deserve every penny! So YES! worry about your $457, you earned it you decide where it gets spent.

The day America ended was the day a few arabs flew planes into our buildings simply because of how we lived. War is taking steps in the opposite direction. More money was spent on the war in the mid-east that the US is astronomically in dept. For some reason everyone keeps electing the people who's only care is how fat there wallets are. What people need to know is that the answer to everything. The ultimate solution to the worlds problems are out there in space. To prosper we must expand our endeavors in t

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, PennyOrder.com

NASA has been shut down, the taxpayers have been shut down, to improve the lives of the people who can't be helped. If a charity case is who they are, they've already chosen not to be a contributing member of society. But now we're going to support that? I'd love to see exactly where my tax dollars fall and I'd love to vote on where my money goes.
