In other countries, this is not that uncommon. I lived in Japan when my dad was in the Air Force, and I saw teachers hit the students on many occasions. The U.S. is to bleached in it's politically correction that the young children have no idea what it means to truly be corrected.

@mfg_unitare you serious? just go to a hospital and count how many indian doctors you see. i grew up with two indian kids in school and they both had perfect grades and after middle school it was on to a private school. not to mention that their dad is the best cancer doc in ohio. you should see their house. its a mansion. they are VERY family oriented and hold the utmost respect for the elders and culture. so maybe you should go back to school and learn a thing or two
