THat was not a touch and go. A touch and go refers to taking off after the landing roll.

Yeah, let's go back up in the air with a damaged plane. I will never fly again until the second coming of Christ.

@gmantoysIt really doesnt effect anything except some communications and that wouldnt cause the pilot to suck.

ok: The tail of the plane didnt hit the ground at all. Because of the bad weather the plane stalled during the landing. This means it dropped too fast and the landing gear hit the ground hard. In no way did the tail of the plane hit the ground.

      GuinnessGuy74 - 2 years ago

@littlec916Stalled airplane:: that mysteriously regains lift and takes off again?? Hmmm....

    • ballinboi837

      ballinboi837 - 2 years ago

@littlec916ya dumbass: if the tail hit it would loose partial control and lift. the tires reflex the plane back into the air.

The pilot thought: That he had enroled for Harrier training

    • Knoxx128

      Knoxx128 - 2 years ago

@bradhunt5ROFL: i get it.. like he meant to land tail-first because he thought there was one of those ropes that attatches to the tail of a harrier upon landing right? ur cool wanna make out?

Fun fun fun: The 14g makes what would have put my spine through the nose on the flightdeck on the 737 look almost enjoyable.

He's a great pilot.: If he would have tried to finih the landing, the plane would have bounced back up off the ground greatly reducing the amount of runway left for the plane to safely land. It was bad weather but a great call by the pilot. The plane it traveling at about 200 mph, that's 400 feet a second. That one little bounce could cost them over 500 feet of runway.

      @RES9bull: shit.

    • usaisadump

      usaisadump - 2 years ago

@RES9I agree: split second thinking by the pilot probably saved the entire plane and many lives, depending on what was waiting beyond the end of the runway. (expressway, ravine, bridge, field, water)

    • joecessna182

      joecessna182 - 2 years ago

@RES9What?: That airplane is traveling at about 130 knots or 148 MPH. They encountered windshear on short final and aborted the landing prior to touchdown as you can hear the engines spool up before they hit. After a hit like that, they probabaly would not have bounced, rather blown a tire.

@RES9Windshear: Is what caused that. He's not a great pilot for choosing to land in such harsh conditions
