@nicolastelmosse Actually: I live in America and I have a good friend from Germany and a few from Australia, as well as family in England. All four countries use the term "canadian" as either a negative adjective or noun. for example, "stop being such a canadian"

@nicolastelmosse Jealousy, hate, canadians. none of these come into it. on the whole america is seen as a necessary, sometimes fun country but essentially with no culture and of slightly lower than average intelligence. probably in the top 30 of everyone's favourite country list, but in hardly anyone's top 10.
