A UCLA student was using a computer in the library. During a routine security check he was unable to produce his ID. This led to him being tazed 5-6 times and handcuffed.

    I've seen this before. This idiot did not have his ID and so he was LEGITIMATELY asked to leave the premises. He got rude and indignant instead of complying, first insisting he had the right to stay (he didn't), and then insisting that he would leave if they let him (again, he didn't). So he got tazed. Most people wouldn't have, because MOST people would have left when asked and returned when they had their ID as required. I have no sympathy for idiots.

    Well, I lost my student card like a month ago and seriously I never had any trouble. As you can see, most of the witness had a hard time internalizing the enforcement of this law. Therefore, to me there is a bigger chance that the law enforcement was being a jurk.

    The funny thing here is that getting "Tazed" scrambles the signals coming from your brain to your muscles and causes the synaptic gaps between the nerves to become flush with acetylcholine (ACH) and you lose the potential to use your muscles until some of that ACH gets oxidized and the stores of potassium and sodium in those cells repolarize. So it's just hilarious that the cops are tazing him and then telling him to move and then tazing him some more. They are trained to know what these things do to people

    This should be titled "Student Gets Tazed For Resisting Arrest"... Not everything cops do to students is some kind of abuse of their Civil Rights. I see & hear SOOOO many students who think they know everything & are entitled to even more. Then they hit the real world & (hopefully) figure out that they don't actually know a whole heck of a lot about how the real world works; though by then a lot of the smart ones have already figured that out - hopefully. And yes, I am a college graduate myself.

    It's good that there are patriots "fighting" for "our freedom"! The sentence itself doesn't make sense and there is more freedom in North Korea. You can't go in jail for not mowing your lawn and you will not be hit with electricity for not having an ID.

      @ghoolFirst and foremost - private building, private facility, private property, not public. Second, I'm pretty sure there was a reason he was asked for ID - and it probably wasn't just for sitting there quietly. Third, being belligerent and failing to comply with the man with the tazer is just stupid.
