Driveshaft obviously not broken:: The front driver's side wheel was bound against the rock, and he had the front diff locked up. The torque converter was prolly getting crazy hot as he kept revving against it. Fuel line gave way somewhere and that's what caused fire...did anyone else pay attention in the 9th grade autoshop?

Whoops about have of my post was cut off...: ...I was right behind it when it lit off. We were winching on him with that blazer and his transmission line blew. The fire was REAL & it was BIG and HOT. The front tires were only digging holes without the winching. & for those of you calling us rednecks.. Hell yea... But dumb? No, it takes a lot to build these vehicles to stand up to what we put them through. & this was a competiion and we required Helmets & extinguishers for everyone. & don't knock it til yo

All right GENIUSES: Here's the breakdown: That vehicle is about as much a jeep as your mother has a penis. It has a Chevy big block along with Chevy transmission & transfer case. The axles are run of the mill 2-1/2 ton Rockwells. Those tires are the new 54" Boggers which are really friggin huge & really friggin heavy. Plus that buggy heavy by itself. He did break the rear driveshaft & the tires were all wedged in that really twisty deep ravine. (which I personally dug out with a trackhoe last summer) I wa

    • jimmy3838

      jimmy3838 - 3 years ago

@UglyBroncoWell: It caught fire from a fuel leak or possibly the carb was getting too much fuel and maybe it was comming out the bowl vents...who really knows. But with that big block he should have been able to romp on it one time and get it out of there.....
