Everything I've read about whale sharks says that they're very docile. They eat shrimp and other small fish. In a way they are kind of the vegetarians of the shark world.

@iuliusI beg to differ, julius. Sharks don't have a mucous layer as do scaled fish, their skin is made of the same material as their teeth, and in fact looks like a layer of miniature teeth. Sharkskin has even been used as sandpaper. Biology 3.
