spiders like that are rair down here in south Texas we got those spiders that look like they could kill a bird from the size. oh and there everywere. you dont want to step on them becoause they look like there fangs will go threw your boot.

That's not a wasp, it's a cicada killer. Non-aggressive so that wuss could have picked it up with his bare hand.

That is a Cicada Killer wasp. They kill cicadas and did mudholes in the ground. Looks like crawdead mounds. They bury in ground and lay the eggs. Once hatch they feed on cicadas
