@NickySilverado actually, 1shot...: For the sake of argument, it is estimated the cost of the war will be about $3 trillion altogether. That's about $10,000 per man, woman and child in the United States. Having said that, if the car were an IED it stands to reason that it should have been blown up.

Gotta get rid of them somehow: This is what combat engineers are pretty much doing in afghanistan, besides patrols and fighting the taliban. The mines are useless and kids play with them and step on them, so they gather them up, and detonate them in a general explosion. What else can you do with old mines?
