   I am Canadian...and in the military....Badaboom918 your just stupid. He had no firearms, on him, even if he did it would make no difference, we fresh water rinse them all the time after time in the field. Our maps are laminated and even if not they cost like 10 bucks the most, Ammo has no effect if wet as long as they are dried. And our combats don't have to look pretty, especially if over in the sandbox.(DEU Dress uniform is the one that needs to be picture perfect) all in all, your stupid comments with

   Badaboom918 you truly are an idiot. Do you know anything of the military? Apparently not. For one, his weapon wasn't even on him. If you look at his flak closely, he doesn't even have his magazines in his pouches. No gear would have been lost due to weaving the different pouches to the flak. And even if that shit did get wet from that creek, do you really think that would make it unserviceable? Hell no! Not with the kind of crap we are issued. And finally, it would be waaay more than $1200.

   Note that the countries of Canada, Italy and Brazil can have extremely slow customs departments causing shippments to sometimes take in excess of one month to be delivered.

  After this incident, his weapons were deemed ineffective and some equipment was lost in the water. The government had to replace his firearm, 2 grenades, a protractor, map, and a first aid pouch. In addition, his uniform was considered unfit for the image an American soldier should portray even after two attempts to wash his attire. All-in-all, the United States government spent approximately $1200 on this irresponsible antic. This is why I love Canada.

    @dammitmitchellIt doesn't weigh 80 pounds. Jesus, where do you people make this crap up at? It is roughly 30 pounds with everything included, around 35 pounds for the large IOTV. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't comment. I just came back from Iraq. Trust me, if it weighed 80 pounds half the Soldiers wouldn't be able to carry it. BTW, I deployed with the unit featured in this video. 1st Cav all the way.
