Whom ever wrote the "details" on this is a complete idiot. This video has NOTHING to do with skydiving... It is a video of someone paragliding. It's also not a "first solo jump"... No instructor in their right mind would intentionally put a student into a stall on one of their first flights. I hate idiots.

Yeah AR_Pete and SkyDGirl, moronic descriptions stating BS as fact are annoying, aren't they? The Paraglider pilot is doing a planned drill where the wing is intentionally collapsed, and if she hadn't hit the wing and caused the tangle it would have re-opened after she released the control lines correctly. This drill is done over water for obvious reasons.

Not a Parasail either...: A few things guys, it's not a first jump. It's not a parasail. A parasail is a parachute towed by a boat. This is a Paraglider. It is not a first jump because this is an advanced paragliding manuver where the wing is intentionally collapsed (full stalled) to train the pilot in wing recovery and is seen in Pargliding Safety Clinics (not something a beginner usually gets into for a first flight). Mistake made: Did not hold the wing collapsed long enough and fell into the wing in the

this is: not skydiving it's parasailing, not the same sport. calling it skydiving just cause there's a chute is like saying baseball and basketball are the same cause they both use round balls. Know what your talking about and label your BS properly.

@skydive420YOUR AN IDIOT: do you even know what the hell parasailing is? Do you see a tow line ? Do you even recognize that the chute he has is not meant for parasailing? He causes his chute to stall which causes him to slow down, which cause the air cells in the chute to collapse, which then causes him to spin out and tangle his chute.

Paraglider maneuvers clinic: I've been flying hang gliders and paragliders for 33 years now, and you can talk yourself blue in the face and the dopey general public will never understand even the simplest thing you say. This is not a parachute. These people are in a training class, and they're doing this on purpose, ( for the most part) and that's why they're over water. Paraglider.....for those that might be interested.: This is not a parachute, it is a paraglider. The pilot did not jump from a plane she launched from a mountain. This video was taken from a paragliding school/clinic where the pilots are instructed to force a wing stall and then recover from it. Unfortunately, some bad turbulance caused some additional problems and the pilot ended up falling into the canopy (also known as "giftwrapped"). Not that it makes any difference, but the pilot was a woman.
