Has there ever been a recorded case of someone injuring themselves before hitting the ground?

All of you crying fake can kiss my azz. I am classified as quadriplegic but still have 96% use of my arms. You are classified that way when you lose function of muscles above the waist. So all you saying fake need to study up before you start talking about crap you know nothing about. Light travels faster sound, thats why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

    Fake..: Fake..

      ThizzAllDay - 3 years ago

@BettinaHis arms and legs and head are flapping in the wind. then his chute deploys automatically due to a safety feature that saved his life. How do you explain the complete lack of any control as his face slaps the concrete and his arm folds and bounces. If your calling it fake because he moved his arm a lil and shrugged, a quadriplegic means he has major damage in all of his limbs, not necessarily lost all function. I hate ppl like your retarded ass

How did he break his neck: I'm not a skydiver just straight drop chutes, did his chute open or did the wind just catch him wrong??

dumbasses: Haven't any of you retards seen Murderball? Most of the athletes in that movie are considered quadriplegic. Being quadriplegic doesn't neccessarily mean you can't move your arms or shoulders, just that the spinal cord was damaged high enough to cause some loss of function in all four extremities. For sucks sake, stop spending all your time on break and go to class once in a while.

The meaning of that video wasn't to know that a quadraplegic can move, it was to say to people that there's risk in extrem sports. I dont think you were listening to your teacher in class when you're saying something stupid like that

yea..: If he was a quadriplegic chances are he wouldn't be able to keep his head up or move his shoulders. Maybe try using the term paraplegic.

      Tydyjav - 4 years ago

@DonDee500kIt looks...: as if he had a premature opening in the head down position in which you are going roughly 170 mph. A canopy opening at that speed is VERY violent. That's why I only belly fly.

Hmmmm: not an expert, but the cypress should have opened the reserve, not the main parashute. the reserve is round and without the break, besides, he only looks up after the shute is released to check if it flyes or not... i'm actually tilting towards fake...

    • rmariboe

      rmariboe - 4 years ago

@DulcolaxThe reserve: Is identical to the main - only it's packed by an "expert" and with a closer eye on detail. It's automagically opened if your vertical velocity is too high at a given distance to the ground (800 m in my case). I suppse he might have been able to move around his head if he broke the spine beneath the neck muscles (and the shoulders if it broke even further down)...

    • Dulcolax

      Dulcolax - 4 years ago

@Dulcolaxok...: did the reserve use to be round? it sure was ten years ago, those of my friends still skydiving say they all have round reserve chutes... but maybe its a local thing...

    • ephidaboost

      ephidaboost - 4 years ago

@Dulcolaxyea: it used to be common to have jellyfish backup chutes.. now they are mostly ram air like the main chute, but very gentle and s little larger

    • Tydyjav

      Tydyjav - 4 years ago

@DulcolaxThere are...: still a few round reserves left but they are very rare. Most riggers will not repack them.

  • thecommanche

    thecommanche - 4 years ago

One mistake.: So the person who submitted got the title wrong. There's nothing wrong with the video itself, the chute opened automatically and the shitloads of air going past his head knocked it around. Damn, if every video you comment on is so fake, why do you keep coming back to a website constantly posting manufactured content to grace us with your presence? Get up and go.

    • ahnjan

      ahnjan - 4 years ago

@actorman311Just so you know...: being a quadriplegic does NOT mean you can't move your arms. most quadriplegics just have limited control over their arms

morons: Why don't you morons do some actual research. Most skydivers today have elevation regulators attached to their parachutes in case of such an incident. After a certain elevation is passed the chute will automatically open, insuring that the incapacitated diver will land safely. The camera attached to his head is obviously moving around a lot because of the extreme turbulence during freefall. Id like to see you pussys try this instead of acting like you know what you are talking about.

    • rdnx7

      rdnx7 - 4 years ago

@goarmy418you should do some actual research moron:: because quadriplegics cannot shrug their shoulders when they're talking. paraplegics can move their arms but not quadriplegics, hence the name "quad" meaning all four limbs. extremely low if this is fake.
