  It wasn't that he lost his sense of smell.. it's just that he didn't know he stunk. There's a difference in figurative vs. literal.. unless, of course, he really did physically stink.. which, judging by that greasy hair, is probably the case anyway.

  Dumb... Dumb... Dumb!!!! I don't understand the skater mentality to not wear helmets or other body armor. I come from a world of mountain biking where it is cool to wear a full face helmet and as much body armor as possible. Why is it the opposite for skate boarding?

    @meak13Easy: After he rubs his head (from the pain), he smells his hand after touching that greasy hair. When he smells his fingers afterwards, he doesn't recoil with nausea. Ergo, he lost his sense of smell.
