Amazing video of a skateboarder that does a trick during a lightning storm and as he is airborne for less than 1 second a lightning bolt strikes his skateboard.

    lightning technically does come from ground too...: electrons build in clouds above and push electrons in the ground away...ions from the ground move up the object struck while electrons move to the positive ground.

    this is how: there are two types of lightning, one from the sky down and the otehr from the ground up. the ground was holding an opposite charge (say negative) and as soon as the kid is airborne, it moves from the ground to him because would be positive. like rubbing wool and touching a door, only the ground holds a huge charge.

    That's so fake: To be struck by lightning you have to be grounded to something and seeing that it showed the lighting just going from the guy to the ground it's all a bounch of crap.

    Looks like it was just static buildup..: also, lightning wouldnt go for the metal of the board, i'd go to any of the other metal objects around, namely those huge cargo containers in the background. Or, like pxlfreak said, it's god telling to stop skating. xD
