Maybe I'm just not understanding this the right way. But if the presented video is what the person is being showed, then why is their brain not seeing the same thing?? Or is this just capturing your thoughts mixed with the images you're seeing.. As in ***Your Thoughts + Presented Video = Brain Activity Reconstructed Video*** ???

@foltoes It was in the news. I did my entire project at University on this footage. It uses a new development in fMRI technology called BOLD. All you need to do is a little google search and you could find the research behind this. Also, it was in the news. Don't just call bullshit without knowing anything.

Here's the article it pulled from. No BS, apparantly. And it's not tops news story because news stations are more interested in bleeding stuff than technology. (How few people know we've had usable and working cybernetic eye and arm implants for nearly a decade now at this point?)

For the last year or so I have said: I cant wait till they can just port a plug from my brain to capture what I see, for I see so many great things that words can not describe them. stills and video from mental images. but this could and would only be as effective as your own memory unless you are recording as you watch. in that case just keep a camcorder on you at all times.

So many of the images have writing like youtube.com and viacom - how the fuck are is the text so clear and the images so bad? Oh yea, it's BS.

    • Maia-Couch-76

      Maia-Couch-76 - 6 months ago

@TwinsenLBAWhat are you talking about? The text wasn't clear at all! It looks like a bunch of text layed over and over and over eachother. Which is the same as all the other images, when it was a video of a human it looked like an image of a human layed over another human over and over. Which makes sense because the brain doesn't just process what it sees but it process all those things that it's reminded of by what it sees.

I read an article about this in scientific american. Not totally bullshit, but you have to know what picture to look for on beforehand, but the video kinda give you the illusion they can reord just any brain and see what's showing...
