maybe the 1st set of drivers came to a stop a little further down the road, instead of screeching to an immediate halt right there, with hundreds of cars going at full speed, unaware of what's just happened, causing some major pile-up .. you do see people hopping from somewhere on the right side of the screen?

wow this must be in france. i heard the french were rude but damn.....after witnessing an accident like that and then just keep on driving by without helping is rediculous. here in the US you can get in trouble for doing that. the other drivers were witnesses and are obligated by law to stay at the crash site and tell the police what they saw happen. what cowards..

@s53babythe first set drivers (on the jackknife truck side) should have stop and help, They were witnesses.However people started showing up to help, But those first set drivers that just drove right by my they rot in hell.

@s53babythere's not a whole lot a mass of panicked witnesses could do to help the people involved. there were enough people who got out and ran over to come to the aid of the people in the accident, but you must realize that the people in the cars could have been a) trapped, thus needing equipment such as the jaws of life to be removed and/or b) injured at the neck or spine and improper assistance could make their injuries far more life threatening.

@s53babyThese idiots that make all these excuses not to stop are full of crap. In the days before cell phones I was in a vehicle that went in the ditch and numerous cars seen it happen and went by. We tried for almost an hour an hour to get someone to give one of us a ride into town and finally after I had walked on the highway for a couple of miles I finally hitched a ride into town. People can die out there or spend miserable hours trying to get a tow truck.

@s53baby@Klard, All motorists stopping to take a look at an accident is exactly what NOT should happen. If there is nothing you can do or if you have nothing to contribute to an accident then the only thing you can and should do is to leave the scene of the accident and let professionals handle it. If you want to do something you can secure the site of the accident, render first aid if you know HOW to do that (don't just start pulling and working on victims because you will only make it worse).
