    happens more often than you think. I was almost scammed same way accept after he gave me receipt I called my wife for the rest of the money and a tow truck to pick up "MY" car and the scammer called the cops saying it wasnt mine but I had a receipt with his signature and the rest of the money. He was not happy to let his 8k car go for soooo cheap. Just have to be smarter than the crook.

    So... the scam is to convince someone to give you 600 dollars? Um, that is not a scam. That is just playing with someones dumbassness. And besides some of them were actors.

     so did they give the money back. because if not that is illegal as all heck. In NYS, it becomes Grand Larceny after $1000 and becomes a Felony. Not to mention it is all on camera. I'm sure they gave the money back but wow. And to agree with Docweed13, dont do this. You will be caught!

    Even though this is just a prank, a contract was still made between the buyer and seller. The pranksters are liable to sell them that car for $5000 and would win compensation if they took them to court as the contract was broken.

    • herbie747

      herbie747 - 2 years ago

      @bltizkrieg99Where is the contract, numb-nuts?

    • aaaskippy

      aaaskippy - 2 years ago

      @bltizkrieg99You're right, because we all need to remember that thanks to people LIKE YOU, we live in a nation where everybody wants to sue for any reason they can think of, right? Oh, are you jewish perhaps?

    • bluemeister

      bluemeister - 2 years ago

      @bltizkrieg99I guess, technically, your right. However, I would doubt that lady signed her actual name on the "receipt". If your talking about a verbal contract... I suppose it would depend on the laws of the state that they lived in. Either way, I got a bad vibe from them taking their money and actually signing something and letting them walk away with it.

    • HailBorat

      HailBorat - 2 years ago

      @bltizkrieg99There is no contract, the seller can give back the deposit anytime they want. Doesnt matter what the agreement was.

    • HailBorat

      HailBorat - 2 years ago

      @bltizkrieg99Besides.. the car was not their's to sell. It was a rental car.
