A young cop in New Zealand screws up badly during a pursuit of a suspect by throwing out the tire spikes too soon. He should've been in the Police Academy movies.

the rookie thought it was the person they were chasing because you'll notice its a speeding car without lights flashing. the cop driving didnt turn them on until JUST before he got to them. how was he to know ? its the drivers fault imo

The driver did not have his lights & sirens on until he was almost on top of the spikes. A veteran cop could have made the mistake of spiking his car. If the rules are similar to the States, the car IS not considered an emergency vehicle without LIGHTS and SIRENS in operation. The rookie should have called the punk senior officer on that one.
