If you watch this clip closely just before this guy wipes out a piece from the front part of his car falls off. I dont know too much about go-carts but whatever that piece was it was probably important.

He clearly hit the wall. Looks like the one in front of him tried to go wide and squeezed him against the wall. Open wheel carts are bad about things like this because the sidewall of the tire grips the wall and throws it into a flip.

he did hit the wall: but look again and pause if you need to but you can see that he hit the rear right tire of the guy infrount of him first that was what knocked off the front piece on his cart. also its not a very important piece of the cart its just there to help with wind reduction

  @GREYWOLFIIIwell kinda: He did indeed hit the right rear of the cart in front of him but the tire didn't do any damage. the front of the(Crashed person's) go cart was wedged in the rear bumper guard of the cart ahead of him. so when the leading cart turned the second cart was helpless due to space. so as he juked out near the right wall his carts fiberglass nose was ripped away. all the nose does is deflect debris from the driver and keep the feet protected.

the real aspect..: i have been there before. i race karts like this myself. been in the same situation but never left the seat thankfully. and yes it will throw you at least that far, he's lucky the wall was there. open rear tires are a dangerous aspect in kart racing and for it to be a shifter is even worse. i'll search for some of my home vids and kart racing. nice video shows the real side of kart racin'.

What really happened: The car in front of the crashing guy braked rather suddenly, you can see it in slow-mo. The black helmet dude hits the brakes for a moment for no good reason. That caused our ill fated hero to drive up over the slow guys right rear tire, launching him into a netherworld of crashes, flailing, bone-crunching turmoil. Good vid.
