thats russian and it looks like a failed catapult launch, aka a problem with the hydraulic launcher.

1.) russian fighter: Suchoi SU-33 "Flanker-D" 2.) russian aircraft carrier: Admiral Kuznetsov Class 3.) the plane is landing and catch one of the arrestor wires with his hook, but the arrestor gear is defective and could not brake the plane in the right way 4.) the second plane aborting the landing (the hook is down) and makes a "touch an go" 5.) sorry for my bad english :(

dont they power up right after landing just so they can take off if something goes wrong

You can really see the force of an ejection system - how it actually pushes the plane down when engaged when it's not moving fast enough to create lift.

The arresting cable broke. See the plane after have to do a go around because no arresting cable? It launched like it did due to slingshot and he jets were still going.

Let's settle the take off vs landing debate once and for all. first off this is a Russian Aircraft Carrier, if you notice to the right as the jet goes off the deck you can see the ski jump that they use for launching the jets. Since the jet did not go off the ski jump, I think this was part of a failed landing, either a missed landing or a botched touch and go practice.

that's not an F14, wings to small, fixed, nose cone is white, intake is round and set back, where as f14's intakes are square, large and right next to the cockpit. that's not even american. I'd say a Su-33, but I don't know. american carriars use JBDs during take off, i can't tell if that ship has them or not, but it looked like he was arresting (landing) however, the arresting crew got the tention limits wrong and it kept going. It would also explain the loud ringing of a bell to warn of an emergency, and

@Denkaiin fact I see the arresting cable, it was defintately landing.

@DenkaiIts definitely Russian, you can tell by the carrier that has the angled take off deck, yeah UK and France has these, but the Russian ones have the small take off area to the right which the UK and French ones don't.

Mr. Putin had a little chat with that pilot. "We don't steal American design Tomcat for you to give it a drink."

@53moreHPIts not a f-14 tomcat....Its not even an American plane....Its a Russian SU-33....The tomcat has variable geometry wings....This has fixed wings....

@53moreHPI would re-read his post. He did not claim it to be an American jet.

Its Landing...: That is the Admiral Kuznetsov Russia's only carrier you can tell cuz it has a ski ramp runway for takeoff because it doesnt have catapults. The plane is a Su- 33

@HiskeyPipeshmmmm......looks a lot like an FA-18 Hornet, but I could be wrong. I only worked on them for 6 years in the Marine Corps

    • bonerdust

      bonerdust - 2 years ago

@HiskeyPipesit is a landing, he's right. they take off on the ramp. the reason it looked like a take off following the crash is because the wing man did a touch and go, being that you can't land with a broken cable. hence the plane before getting a little wet. it does look like an f-18, but if you worked on them for 6 years and still can't tell its not an f-18 then you are a retard. probably why you went into the marines in the first place.

    • montess85

      montess85 - 2 years ago

@HiskeyPipesYour an idiot...It looks nothing like a f-18.....I am glad your no longer working are planes anymore.....

    • boybluess

      boybluess - 2 years ago

@HiskeyPipesare you fuckin serious!!??? "i think its an f-18, i worked on them for 6 yrs" !!!???? i worked on f/a-18's for 6 years in the navy and that is nowhere near even looking like a hornet. no wonder you were in the marine corp and we always got the most fucked up jet from you guys. its not a myth.... you guys really are retarded.

Looks like: the guys down below did not build up enought steam for the weight of the plane taking off

      @pacificgraywolf...: ...what???

    • Gorestain

      Gorestain - 3 years ago

@pacificgraywolfLuigio94: what he means is that the catapult wasn't calibrated for the weight of the plane, which doesn't look to be true. It looks like the pilot was fully throttled up for the take-off in order to build up sufficient air speed.

    • ZEUZ

      ZEUZ - 3 years ago

@pacificgraywolfWHEN: A PLAINE TAKES OFF THE CARRIER IT'S CATAPULTED OFF LIKE A SLING SHOT, THE JET OR PLAIN DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO DO IT, ITSELF, THE CARRIER DID NOT BUILD ENOUGH STEAM OR IF THEY USE HYDRALICS DID NOT WORK BUT IT WAS NOT ENOUGH SO THE JET PRETTY MUCH CRASHED.
