who the hell are these 2 guys: talk like they are genious'

    • JephN

      JephN - 3 years ago

@diveitThey are pilots based at that airport: The citation landed long, with the wind behind him, at Bader Field, not a runway designed for private jets. The two guys know what they're talking about.

Bader Field, Atlantic City, NJ: That runway is not long enough for jet traffic

heres the REAL deal.......: The CitationJet departed Burlington (BTV) around 14:45 on a routine flight to Atlantic City (AIY). The pilot first made a low pass down runway 29 and then return to land on runway 11. After touchdown the airplane failed to stop and overran the runway and into the Intercoastal Waterway. The occupants were rescued by a boat. According to the Cessna 525A Landing Distance Chart, an airplane with a landing weight of 11,000 pounds required 2,930 feet of landing distance, in a no wind

its not a lake OR a bay......: its the end of a runway at the old Bader (AIY) Field you morons. the acft was an early Citation and the acft was registered in North Eastern Europe (Finland or Denmark).....the pilot landed long and didnt have enough concrete and over shot the runway. he was just an idiot. the NTSB report stated he may have even mistaken ACY for AIY.....again, NOT a US pilot.

@fuzzy64would you?: well would you remember if you were panicking for your life? or would you be more worried about getting your sorry, smack-talking ass out of the plane? which one seems more logical? what happened to common sense these days?.. it isn't that hard to come up with a logical explanation as to why things happen. you people just look at all the bad things. morons.

...: Too high, too fast, too dumb, "The pilot reported to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspector, that he performed "one circle" around the airport, observed the windsock, and then performed a landing on runway 11" He had to notice the small runway and tailwind yet he still landed. Fool. Looks like he barely flared on landing. Hope I don't do that crap when I start flying.

    • Astrophysical

      Astrophysical - 2 years ago

@nano404it's a private jet: i hope you do realize that these are built to land on small municipal airports. i doubt it would land on a landing strip such as the ones that prop planes land on, but a municipal, regional, national, or international airport should suffice for a learjet or embraer. the conditions are noted in the video stating many possibilities as to why this happened: 10-15mph wind blowing downwind and a slightly wet runway which DOES cause grip problems. shows how much you know.

.: Maybe the pilot was landing downwind because the lake was at that end and was probably the best place to stick it if the throttles are stuck. I'm sure the pilot had a bit more savvy than the guy filming him.

    • Tim_Nasty

      Tim_Nasty - 2 years ago

@schrisno: you don't land with a tailwind, its common sense for anyone who has a pilots license... and landing with a tailwind on a short runway with a turbojet aircraft... tsk tsk
