That was a Thunder Mustang called Rapid Travel. It's a 3/4 scale homebuilt kit. It uses a Falconer V-12 engine derived from the Jaguar V-12. It was not a P-51 warbird.

I was there - he got bruised up, but otherwise fine. The wind (you can hear it) was wicked, and they canceled the championship race due to high winds. Insane.

This was at the Reno Nevada air races last week. The plane made an emergency landing after pulling out of the race with mechanical problems.
