    @Nick-Schmidt-713Because the forces causing the metronomes to sway aren't static (rolling on cans) the metronomes, even though set at different tempos, will align rhythmically.

  It happens because the metronomes makes the plank sway back and forth on the cans, which in turn "shakes" the metronomes into the same pattern. My IQ is 145 last I counted.
