Not a blowout: Holy shit man, that wasn't pulling a wet one. Its not a blowout either. If this was a blowout, you wouldn't be seeing the video and none of those dudes would be alive to tell the tale. This was totally the drillers fault, he probably got run off the next day. He didn't check the standpipe pressure before spinning out. Seems like after it happened he quickly turned to his cosole and probably turned off the pumps. If that's the case, there was possibly close to 20000 psi that blew the floorhan

the guy: holding the pipe got destroyed

  • smakkie71

    smakkie71 - 2 years ago

This is what is called: Pulling a wet one. The Driller didnt shut off the pumps when they spun the 2 joints of pipe apart and the 2000 psi or so the pump was producing pushed the floor hand awho was holding the mud box around the pipe away. I have seen it before it gets really messy.

Why do people insist on calling someone with no Bach. Degree an Engineer??: That guy on the drilling deck will be a Trade Assistant or maybe a Fitter(doubt it) NOT an Engineer. Spend 4yrs at Uni first then think about it. By the way, i am a Fitter and a Civ Eng.(in that order) and worked in that industry, just to rectify the smart asses before they start.

@Dav_68HI!! I AM: Smart ass #1. WHo gives a flyin f#ck who you are. If he wants to be called an engineer why the f#ck do you care. At least he has (or had) a job and not on break telling his qualifications to ppl that dont care
