(AP) Springfield, USA - A small electrical fire erupted in sector 7G of a local Nuclear Power Plant this afternoon. The fire started after Safety Inspector Homer Simpson lit a fart in the mens room which caught on and spread from floor to floor until the cooling tower collapsed in an incredible explosion. When reached for comment Mr. Simpson was quoted as saying "It's pronounced nucular, nucular".

      @colt40_bitchIdiot: Its the Trojan power plant in Oregon. I was there. They will implode the reactor this summer. Its a shame really since it cost over a billion dollars to construct. They are on the other side of the columbia river in washington watching it. only 1.25 miles away.

    Trojan tower: I live 5mi from that. That's the old Trojan Nuclear Tower they imploded... And sorry to bust anyones bubbles. But Trojan has absolutly nothing to do with the simposons cartoon. Matt G even admitted it. Becuase the implosion happend in Goble/Rainier, Or. Anyways. I grew up around that tower my whole life. I didn't wanna see it go. but hey... It was one hell of an implosion

      @VanStromerAn idea... a really bad idea: When I photographed the tower prior to the implosion, one gentleman popped an idea for the cooling tower than imploding it, and fit for Oregon: turn it into a casino.

      @VanStromerYou are right...: The idea of Trojan being associated with the nuclear plant featured in "Simpsons" series is an urban myth. For a while the Portland Tribune online newspaper featured the landmarks of "Simpsons" and Trojan was the inspiration.
